So had fun last weekend with a Renault Kadjar clean diesel filter warning light and the Orange Maintenance Spanner appearing.
Looking online, hardly any information, apart from maybe water has found it way into diesel filter and take the vehicle back to dealers which if car is annually serviced by dealer or in warranty, the job can be added to their schedule.
What worked for me:
Anyway, to fix Clean Diesel Filter Check Light, first remove Diesel Filter bracket cover (3 bolts), unplug electrical terminal connection and remove the 2 x push-and-squeeze fuel line connectors, ensuring you have a cloth handy to catch dripping Diesel from pipes and remove filter which is secured by a single M6 bolt.
Then remove filter from Kadjar and find a container, slowly unscrew lower bleed screw and allow water to drain (into a container).

Re-Fitting:
Re-secure bleed screw and put filter back into position, then re-attach 2 x fuel lines and leave electrical terminal unplugged.
Then from inside of vehicle, press start button once and wait a couple of minutes, then get out of car and re-attach electrical terminal and re-assemble filter cover bracket etc.
(this helps pre-fill filter before engine starts)
Car was then driven after ensuring fuel line connectors where not leaking, the Clean Diesel Filter Check Light remained on but after leaving the car parked overnight, the next day the Clean Diesel Filter Check Light appeared for a minute then disappeared and has not re-appeared, so no Service Reset needed by dealer ![]()
