So our chocolate Labrador is molting like mad and we are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner for our downstairs areas, lounge, kitchen dinning room and hallway, all of which are wood flooring and the kitchen is tiled  (no carpet).

Looking for the robot vacuum cleaner to be connected to a stand for charging etc. ideally for a price of upto £200.

If operated by an app on my iPhone would be ideal and a self charging station / base would be nice touch after it has finished to return to for charging etc.

Anybody have any recommendations as we have our eye on the eufy RoboVac 15C MAX Robot Vacuum Cleaner currently?

Don’t know much about them but this one is within budget and does mention pets, might be worth comparing to the one you found…

Eufy robot carpet cleaners are for sale via Argos, Curry’s and Costco, so I feel the brand (Chinese) is reasonable.

Will have to keep my eyes open for any discounts / promotions etc.

So after looking at all the deals online, we opted for the Vactidy Nimble T6 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

Amazon have a sale (as always) where the Vactidy Nimble T6 is now £119 as simular specs to most other budjet type robot vacuum cleaners with upto 2800Pa suction.

Unless you are going to spend say £500+, then the differences are only minor for vacuum only robot cleaners in the £150 – 200 bracket

The Vactidy Nimble T6 is supplied with a remote, has two rotary side brushes and there is an app available.

So have configured our VacTidy V6 to use wifi and now using the VacTidy app.

Wifi configuration via the app was super easy and only took a couple of minutes, now we can control our VacTidy V6 whom we have nicknamed ‘Grandma’

    A few pages from the VacTidy app;

So after a few days playing with our VacTidy V6 robot vacuum cleaner given we paid just £119, I am pleasantly surprised with both its cleaning performance for our hardwood flooring and the app.

Does not like socks left on the floor or laptop mouse wire which can get trapped in the roller and its wheels, but does manages to maneuver around slippers and shoes and piles of clothes (left pile of work clothes on floor for test purposes) well.

    VacTidy V6 Positives:

    • VacTidy App if free and only requires registration (email address and password)
    • VacTidy App is simple in presentation, but seems to have all the basics covered, battery charge level, cleaning schedule history, schedules settings, spot cleaning, manual remote control directional control and has a nifty option to find the robot vacuum cleaner if it cannot be easily seen, or has stopped ‘positioning device’ which beeps.
    • If the roller becomes jammed the VacTidy V6 stops and starts bleeping at which point you can go to the app which will alert you that problem is with roller.
    • If the VacTidy V6 gets stuck on a ledge, after 30 seconds, its easily reverses off.
    • vacuum mode via the app has three suction power levels.
    • The VacTidy V6 comes with a handheld remote and batteries.
    • VacTidy V6 transitions for Wooden floor to mats easily and back again.
    • VacTidy V6 once power level reaches 20%, will automatically stop cleaning and start the procedure (journey) to return to the charging station to recharge.

    VacTidy V6 Negatives:

    • The VacTidy V6 is not gentle when it bumps into objects.
    • The VacTidy V6 does not seem to like tracksuit or dressing gown type cords as they can get caught in the roller.
    • Some areas it appears seem to get cleaned two or three times which is not logical.
    • Cleaning cycle is a little random, but most areas do seem to get cleaned eventually.
    • The VacTidy V6 does not have an intelligent room scanning option.
    • Cleaning cycle on full suction power only last about 60 minuites.
    • The VacTidy V6 does not seem to notify you when the dust collector (bin) is full.

Short video of the VacTidy V6 dancing with some electrical wires and I then set it to find its way back to the charge station (wires un-clipped from wall on purpose)

VacTidy V6 tug of war with tracksuit cord

The VacTidy V6 got stuck on a ledge, after 30 seconds, its easily reverses off

So the VacTidy iOS App had an update available over Xmas and a couple of screen shots showing the new options.

Main differences are that there is now a pause button on main screen which is useful and that it appears that the original Spot button has been renamed Designate.

Also the remote control option, which was a fuss to get to is now located on the front control screen, convenient new position in my opinion.

How is it doing? Would you buy it again or opt for a different model/brand? I have a mix of floorings, mainly carpet but also tiled with some rugs
