Turning Off Live Photos Permanently on iPhone

If you prefer taking standard still photos and don’t want your iPhone to keep switching Live Photos back on, you can lock the setting so it stays off every time you open the Camera app. By default, the iPhone remembers whatever Live Photos setting you last used, but only if you enable the option that preserves it.

 

How to Keep Live Photos Permanently Off

Follow these steps:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap Camera.
3. Tap Preserve Settings.
4. Turn Live Photo ON (yes — ON).
   • This tells the iPhone to remember your last Live Photo choice.
5. Now open the Camera app and turn Live Photos OFF.
   • The icon will show a line through it when disabled.
