Xbox 1 Fifa 20 Servers Location – Geo-Filter

Looks like the Xbox 1 Main FIFA 20 server that UK players connect to has moved from Germany to France (Orleans)

Only provisional testing, but hopefully the location change will be a big help for Fifa 20 gameplay for UK Xbox 1 – FIFA 20 owners/players

So after some serious testing, (my Son and I) it appears the new French EA Servers added this year that mainly UK Xbox 1 Fifa 20 users connect to (As well as Some in EU) are poor for EA gameplay, also from my testing and online research, it would appear the new EA servers are hosted by Amazon (AWS) (lots of hops).

Traffic Routing for online gameplay is everything, so I have set up a VPN to Germany (Frankfurt) and the gameplay (FifaPlay) is much improved, only Saturday nights is when it is noticeable that the servers/connection is impacted.

Currently have a VPN running to Netherlands (Rotterdam) and again, FifaPlay is as good or even a little better than the former connection to Germany.

So looks like Routing of Traffic / Lag compensation Algorithm (yes there is one) and Hosting of EA Servers in France does not favour UK Xbox 1 Fifa 20 Players.

Disclamer: I realise choice of VPN service has an impact. but interested if others have noticed similar FifaPlay gameplay quality issues and if any UK locations (Scotland) are actually have good connection via EA ?

My Son is going for Elite this weekend on Fut Champs as a test

Alas my Son made it to Gold 1, gaming was good but router (XR500) via VPN keeps falling over and locking up,

VPN does seem to improve GamePlay (FifaPlay) and I am sure this is partly due to the fact that IP address are routed accorded  to location.

Fifa 20 Servers London (UK)

As an update, I have seen the rumours regarding Fifa 20 servers being now located in the UK (London) and for Xbox 1 X and Fifa 20, my Netgear XR500 confirms that this is true.

My son now gets a lovely 10-14ms ping on every Fifa20 game and is smashing FUT champs Elite
