To answer my own OP – the answer is to switch off DNS Security which of itself is a shame as this prevents your DNS being spoofed and I know of instances where this has happened to friends with costly results. With this turned off the LG TV happily connects to the Internet on the wired Lan and Wi-Fi

Thanks for the reply – yes the Vigor is directly connected to Plusnet with the inbuilt modem and it connects nearly as fast as the Asus so happy on that front and the wifi is more stable with the Vigor for my lights and cameras etc so keen to get using the Draytek again. The TV and Router are both on the latest firmware.
The TV is directly connected to the router as it’s under the TV – I’ve tried the IGMP proxy and snooping settings and tbh it didn’t make any difference – I was hopeful that would be it as I’ve read that resolves Sky Q issues. I don’t won’t to start configuring the WAN 2 as I’m saving that for the eventual Virgin connection but I’ll probably be back in the office by the time they sort that out and then I won’t need it!
I suspect its more LG than Draytek and its a compatibility issue that I’ll probably never resolve – but if I do I’ll post back here just in case anyone else has the same setup.
By the way the LG oled at 120Hz is awesome for gaming
