    Hi, thanks for looking in.

For the past day or so i’ve been running it with an Ethernet WAN and i’m not seeing the drop outs, i’m seeing a few but i can’t tell whether they are genuine or not (i have left Net Uptime Monitor running on a windows PC but noticed that often it says lost connection when the line is busy, false negative). I cannot find a log on the 88U which would list internet fails? At least not in Ethernet WAN mode.

The initial firmware was the latest full one from the sites, it came installed with it when i bought it.

I upgraded to the beta firmware when i had already switched to the Ethernet WAN mode to get rid of the relay clicking.

I will now revert back to running a DSL connection on the new firmware now that i’m pretty sure the physical line itself is okay.

I was running a 10m extension DSL cable, i have a shorter one too – and not sure whether cable length makes too much difference but i will run with the shorter to start with just to test the stability

As soon as i switch over i get both of those settings pages emailed here.

Glad that in general it should be okay DSL wise… The original issue is definitely DSL disconnects though.

    thanks
    Paul
