Try with Firewall enabled + DDoS + AiProtection + Two-WAY IPS, Iβm quite sure I had this issue also with my old RT-AC3200 as well. Edit: While at it quick question isnβt it redundant to enable both firewall + AiProtection? maybe Iβm doing this wrongβ¦
In theory, all traffic is managed (goes via Trend Micro) so in Theory, the Two-Way IPS should intercept all DDoS attacks before they even reach you router.
In reality (and at a basic level) traffic goes to and from your router directed via DNS, and hence Traffic can be directed via Trend Micro, but there is the potential to attack you Router directly by IP address only, so then this (in theory) can by pass the AiProtection and hence why I personally use the Firewall > DDoS option also, ‘Defence in Depth’, just incase ;)
Also, give the increase of attacks on SOHO (domestic) routers in the recent years, DDoS is less common than sayΒ DNS Changer attacks and weak Firmware from a coding vulnerabilityΒ perspective etc, so it is all relative. (my view).
In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).
