Most Diesel vehicles including Fiat can do what is called a forced regeneration (burning program) which can be set-up by expert equipment etc.
Alas my ODB2 reader cannot do this, but a good drive with STPÂ (Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner) in tank to help lower burning temperature and get the exhaust to temp will do the same task (almost)
Alas – this is my daughters car, whilst she was driving up and down the motorway to UNI, which is hundreds of long distance miles then no issues with DPF and Regens etc.
Alas since Covid, a lot more time at home (which is good) but Fiat 500 doing lots of very short journeys, hence problems as diesels are not designed for lots of short journeys, especially the older diesels ![]()
Will be interesting to see if in a week if the DPF light is still off and will check hoses if light comes back on ![]()
