Ok. so I have had a conversation with ASUS and it does appear that the DSL-AC88U with AiProtection fully enabled and IPv4 will not fully support G.fast speeds from WAN to LAN.

ASUS are looking into LAN to LAN transfer speeds, but given the limitation/restriction is Hardware Based, with AiProtection ON, the same will apply (I am sure). unless the DSL-AC88U packet inspection techniques changes, are refined.

The same applies for both LAN to LAN for Wifi and Ethernet connections

For VDSL connection WAN to LAN,  AiProtection works as expected?

Interesting times ahead for the DSL-AC88U and I am waiting to understand from ASUS if pure IPv6 Environments (WAN to LAN and LAN to LAN) will have the same limitations?

Alas, I am on a 50/10 service so cannot check to see if the ASUS RT series (Non DSL) routers are also impacted by G.fast speeds and AiProtection. ?

Edit: I have had feedback from ASUS and they say as enabling  AiProtection disables HW Accelerator, the same limitations will be in effect whether user/owner are using IPv4 or IPv6.
