Personal HP laptop is what Windows or Chrome OS version ?
If Windows try:
- Open the Windows search bar
- Type in Display Settings.
- Check the option for Multiple Displays.
- If your laptop doesn’t detect the second display, the option will not show.
- Try detect option
As @Grisu mention, ensure all display / link / GPU drivers are updated etc ?
