Welcome and thank you for joining, as you say, the DSL-AC88U is not a good model and a shame ASUS no longer support improvemens to this model.
Would you consider a separate modem and router as this would give you more choice, much less choice is available with an inbuilt G.fast modem/router wifi 6 router ?

If you opt for a separate modem / router, then your choice of Wifi 6 routers is considerable improved and can be tailoured to meet you requirements etc.
