Ok, just a thought, but does the vSwitches support layer 2 or Layer 3 networking ?

  • ICMP (ping)  is a layer 3 protocol
  • TCP/IP is a layer 3 protocol.
  • Address Resolution Protocol  (ARP) is layer 3 etc.

If vSwitches support layer 3, then good news.

Any Firewall / VLANs (Virtual) ?
