There has been lots of online debates about the WAN packet overhead maths, suitability and real benefits of ATM vs PTM.

For my PPPoE connection, I have opted for 27 ( a while ago)

My connection which is VDSL2 and PPPoE (for example) should be 27 or 30, but have always found that if I set my WAN packet overhead to 27, latency is better for gaming and never noticed any packet loss etc.

• pppoe-vdsl (27)
• vdsl2 pppoe ptm (30)
