So had to revert back to ASUSWRT-Merlin 386.7_2 after experiencing a few wifi and speed issues with the latest RT-AC86U_386.9 release after an initial dirty upgrade.
Did try a factory reset also, but still after a couple of days, internet throughput decreased and some wifi clients had access problems, hopefully just a firmware bug and not my RT-AC86U wifi radios on there way out .
