As an update, spoke with BT’s live chat today and was put through to a real person ‘Souvik’, after advising the customer support that I wished to renegotiate my current contract and take out a new contract maybe, the BT customer adviser explained as I was in contract, this was not possible, only upgrades where possible (at a higher cost)
So I advised BT customer support that I was aware the ‘BT Retention’s Team’ could be able to allow contract renegotiate of current contract and put me on a new contract if required, all off a sudden the BT customer adviser agreed this was correct and then offered that I was able to ‘check deals and offers from our website’ and add this to my account.
So I ‘again’ refereed to the Fibre 2 package (BT website offer) I am currently using, but customer service said this was not available on my account….
So challenged the fact I could choose any service as part of renegotiated contract, but not the Fibre 2 service, I asked for the Fibre 1 package and same response, customer service advisor, I asked why as this is a current offer and they advised, not possible on my contract…. “FFS”
So BT customer service did offer for myself to telephone their BT’s values team on 0800 800 150 – so will chat with them later this week hopefully 
Edit: if Plusnet offered IPv6, I would be gone in a heart beat
