So as a follow on, Tried Live Chat again and this time connected to an chat agent in UK and after usual security questions etc. it transpired this individual was part of retention team.
To cut a long story short, I was told that if I am currently in a contract, then no new contract can be negotiated until 3 month before then end of my current contract.
Alas for myself, a missed opportunity with BT’s current offers, but hopefully useful for others reading this thread whom are in contract and wish to renegotiate.
@daviddoran – I did email that individual whom you was kind enough to pass on their email address, but as yet have not had a response.
