ok changed the channel, will now wait and see as it can take a while for nest to re-connect.

I’ve set the 86S the same as the 86U in terms of channel.  Only thing different is the Target Wake Time field.  on the 86U is enabled but i read online for IoT devices best to disable it so I’ve disabled it on the 86S and left enabled on the 86U.  I’m still seeing 2 MAC addresses Assoc/disassociate etc but fortunately they not the nest products so will leave it for now and see what happens.

The errors before happened after the firmware update so its all tied to this firmware update.  I might have to look and restoring the one from over a year ago if it continues as it doesn’t seem to just be 1 or 2 devices, it seems to change and do it for any device at random times.  Until yesterday Nest was all online then suddenly its offline and in the logs Nest is assoc/disassoc and I’ve changed nothing so it seems to be randomly going through devices connected, some have been up  several days others cant’ stay connected for more than 12 seconds…. crazy.

Hopefully Asus working on a fix/update, not sure why.  My setup is pretty basic tbh, not implemented any of the stuff i was considering so its basically 1 router, 1 switch and in default setup with a few settings turned off, 1 guest network and 1 main network and a VPN setup on each router so I can connect between the 86U and 86S as required.

That’s pretty much it. all using WPA2
