Hi,

I’m running 17.01 – latest and greatest.

So the plot thickens on this…..

I been in contact with hosting provider and it appears we have sorted it.

So to summaries, If you go Add Account -> Exchange

enter in a “main stream” email provider i.e gmail, BT etc – it asked to config manually or sign in, go config manually, it takes you to the page to then enter in server address, login details etc.

IF i enter my own email via my domain which is hosted by a hosting provider, it doesn’t progress.  I suspect this is because when it does that initial check, it isn’t on some kind of main stream server list it wants to check against.

So the trick this this….

go Add Account -> Exchange

Enter in a main stream email provider address if you have one i.e. a gmail or BT etc address.

It then proceeds and then enter in your own domain hosting providers details i.e. so hosting providers server address, login details etc.

It then proceeds to accept them and bingo – emails come through.

I then had to turn on alters for the mailbox and now i appear to be getting notifications on my phone when I get new email without having to open the mail app or refresh, albeit I always leave the mail app running just lock the phone so seems to be all sorted now.
