One of the iPhone 15 Pro’s biggest upgrades has been CANCELED

According to msn.com, due to technical issues, the rumored touch-sensitive buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have been canceled, according to Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo says, “both high-end iPhone 15 Pro models (Pro & Pro Max) will abandon the closely-watched solid-state button design and revert to the traditional physical button design.”

He adds that the change from the new button design back to the current buttons we know from theΒ iPhone 14Β lineup will increase suppliers’ revenues and profits.

Thanks, they still plan to move to USB-C or you think will keep the lightening connector for another year before they change?

I did read, the entire iPhone 15 lineup will get the USB-C port, only the Pro models will support USB 3.2

Great, I’ve been holding off getting a iPhone until they move to USB-C to avoid buying other cables etc :)

Is the ear piece any good?Β  My last iPhone was a iPhone 6 and the ear piece wasn’t that good – it went very quiet to the point i could hardly hear anyone on it and that was with volume up to the max. I did read online of people having similar issues.Β  In contrast my Android phone is fineΒ  Just wondered if any improvements or still a know issue in general with iPhone’s?

I read the report the other day also, alas they have the new A17 Pro chipset which cannot be run at full capacity due to poor thermal design, so does seem as though the A17 Pro chipset will have to be throttled in future updates.

    A missed opportunity is seems

When do you reckon shops will have stock, mid Nov in time for xmas? I’ve been on apple website entered in loads of different area i.e. london, cambridge, my own town, even bristol – no stock at all.

Just seen article on MacRumors, appears bug fix is in beta and expected release by end Oct in 17.1 update but they may release just the bug fix sooner.Β  Also seems not all iPhone 15 pro models are affected.Β  Appears the apps mentioned that are contributing to the warmer iPhone is:-

Instagram (they have released a fix on Wed so that should be fixed)

    Uber

    Asphalt 9: Legends

Apple is working with developers to fix the issue wit the apps.

So in theory if you don’t have these apps, then i presume phone is ok?

fixed, but they must have slowed the apps down, ensuring they do not use to much CPU etc, ‘Apple will not be reducing the performance of the A17 Pro chip the report states’, but they can reduce the demand the apps place on the CPU

yeah true, unless the app is using more power etc due to the bugs in iOS 17? hence them working with app developers to fix it? have to wait for further details.

Must only be certain apps as report says other iPhone 15 pro users not had any issues… unless a bad batch been produced?

only seems to be pro and max versions, not the entry level or plus models, seems odd.
