Hi,

Yes, Panasonic always had the inputs on the back left of the TV and the power button on the back right.

Now the inputs are on the back right and the power button is at effectively underneath the bottom for the tv and is a button to press to turn on and go to standby.  The remote is used to set it to standby and then it is switched off at the wall as not keen to leave it in “standby” all the time.

I suspect it has to do with 1 – the boot up time to get the TV on and also to save a few quick in a component and the actual button etc.

So far TV has been on, I’m considering *maybe* getting a TP link smart extension lead, they do 1 with 3 sockets and 2 x USBs (don’t need the USBs but they don’t do it with out the USBs) and basically it has inbuilt wifi and each socket effectively has a switch to turn it on and off and you link it up to the app and then you can simply turn the socket on/off as needed via the app which would mean the extension stays on but the actual TV and other devices can be turned off.

Not sure its a bit pricey for what it is but as the actual extension sits behind the TV, only option atm is keep bending down to turn the wall socket for the extension on and off so will see how that goes and decide from there.

early days still atm.
