Picture I forgot to add earlier,

A handy trick to stop the brake fluid reservoir draining whilst you are working on the brake pipes is to slightly depress the brake pedal (1″ to 2″) and hold in place, this then creates a vacuum in the master cylinder that stops brake fluid draining from the disassembled brake pipe and hose components.

Safer than clamping as this can damage brake pipe walls etc.
