Three weeks later …

So the Vaillant EcoFIT Pure 418 (18kw) has been running for the last 3 weeks and must say, most impressed with our new condenser boiler I am.

The boiler meets all our hot water needs, including lots of baths, heating works well and we did have a radiator in a little box room that never seemed to get warm, now reaches temperature after and hour or so.

The Vaillant EcoFIT does have a louder than expected fan (hum) when the boiler first starts and hot water demand is high, so have decided to reattach the kitchen cupboard back around the boiler until new kitchen is fitted, but more than happy to endure a little noise for boiler efficiency and longevity, time  will tell on the latter.

Only gripe I have with our Vaillant EcoFIT is that after a few days the boiler was making a few loud clicking noises when it was heating up and cooling down, so had a look online and seems a common issue with the Vaillant boilers, I  called the Gas Safe engineer back to adjust the torque screw setting on the heat exchanger (to tight they are) and since then we only hear one click on occasions (not gas valve) when boiler heats up.

Note: Gas Safe Engineer was also a Vaillant engineer.
