I thought windows phones were great, I owned one or two back in the day.  It suffered hugely from lack of developer support for apps though and that’s a problem they will still have if they were to launch a platform again. That said competition is always good, they usually have good hardware offerings such as their surface laptop is very good.  I would consider a surface phone.
