Given your RT-AX86U EoL window is 2026–2027 you have some time to make that decision and if your happy with what you have then no point changing apart from the sip pass-through issues.

If you go for the RT-BE86U, then you can set up a dedicated 2.4GHz to support an IoT or Guest (depending on the level of segregation you need) wifi network that only uses 2.4GHz.

I had Screen sharing issues between my Laptop and TV using Smart Connect, so I created a dedicated IoT Network and forced our main TV to join it using 2.4GHz and now screen sharing works well.
