Take a look at the asus rt-ac5300 as a unit to run with your modem, wifi on this device is excellent or the ASUS RT-AC86U, both these models support ASUSWRT-Merlin which is a worthwhile firmware upgrade if you are technically curious.
Also. as you have the RT-AC68U, set this up as AiMesh node, so you can extend wifi range etc.
Fritz!Box 7590 is great all in one unit as is the 7580 but prices tend to be ÂŁ260 +
Others are available like TP-Link VR2800 which is a great budget modem/router, but firmware updates can be not often, but does have Broadcom DSL modem (same as DSL-AC88U ;-)
