Hi,
I have a question to UK Sentinel about AiProtection,
as I understand, in order to update AiProtection database you need to push manually “Check” Signature version ones a week or two, can ASUS team just implement a simple auto-updater (after Router reboot or something) for this?
Thank you

October 18, 2022 at 7:26 am #21287AiProtection comes in two variations
- AiProtection Pro
- AiProtection Classic

AiProtection update frequency
There’s no fixed schedule, Asus updates them whenever they need to. On average it’s probably around once a month.
Updates are automatic I believe but AiProtection is not really an AV and it’s designed to identify traffic types etc.

October 3, 2023 at 5:41 pm #27274Hi,
would it be possible for ASUS in future updates to change “Trend Micro” to more comprehensive “AdGuard Home” Ad and Malicious Sites Blocker, like in Linux and Raspberry Pi ? I think it’s in Merlin firmware already, I maybe mistaken.

It’s free and much better

October 3, 2023 at 6:08 pm #27276Trend Micro and ASUS is a commercial arrangement and not likely to end any time soon.
ASUSWRT-Merlin does support ‘AdGuard Home’ as a third party add-on, which you have to install yourself.
I will mention this to ASUS, but I am sure they will say, not an option for consideration currently

October 6, 2023 at 2:53 pm #27411So ASUS have come back to me regarding AdGuard and I was most surprised with their response.

We have plan for AdGuard on our router but no clear schedule yet.

Wow this would be amazing if it works like uBlock origin at the router level (and comes to the dsl-ax82u , they’re quite ‘relaxed’ about updating the dsl!)

October 6, 2023 at 7:27 pm #27414Will be very interesting how this would work, I would assume the DSL-AX82U would either be first or last on the list, more the latter I would think

October 7, 2023 at 9:23 am #27419Thank you UK Sentinel,
I am very exited and looking forward to this update…
By the way, GL.iNet mini Routers already have it.
