Unsure if you Panasonic Fire TV has this option, but go to MENU > SETUP > Display Customization > Connect Banner and Turn Off / Disable
There are certain browsers (brave browser) that are very good at removing ads etc. and I use for say streaming Youtube and removes those annoying ad breaks etc.
I think the key is if you use a Browser, ads can more easily be blocked, if you use apps, the ads are embedded and much harder to block.

February 10, 2024 at 7:55 am #30525I did read via 9to5google.com that if you place an full stop after the main URL, this can for Youtube, remove inline ads.
Normal URL, normal ads

Altered URL (note the bolded dot), little to no ads

February 10, 2024 at 5:19 pm #30538I have even set up my Netgear XR500 router which has built in Ad Blocking and this stops popups etc, but not the embedded ads from the likes of Youtube / Amazon Prime etc.

February 11, 2024 at 11:38 am #30545Thanks, so looks like effectively need to pay to block them out if become too much. Shame they didn’t leave the current subscription with the blocker and a lower one to include ads.

February 11, 2024 at 4:36 pm #30548Must admit, I am struggling to find a way of blocking say Youtube / Amazon prime streaming ads.
I have seen a couple of options, but they incur a monthly charge, so pointless really from a cost perspective.

February 11, 2024 at 6:40 pm #30550yeah, by the time you pay a free to stop the ads, might as well just pay the additional fee unless you don’t want amazon to get your money :)
If I didn’t use amazon quiet a bit for shopping and benefit from prime delivery, I’d probably stop it if it was just for streaming content but as its all in 1, I’ll stick with it for now, will see how it goes for now, maybe review it when the renewal is due later this year.
Previously when I considered subscribing, it was approx. £79 for the year and I worked out I’d spent around £60-65 on delivery costs so was worth the £79 to get prime delivery + added benefit of able to stream films etc.

KevThe end user is the only loser in this scenario, either way

In a somewhat unwelcome late Christmas present, Amazon has slipped an end-of-life notice for its Amazon Drive cloud storage service.
The platform is being supplanted by Amazon Photos, an almost identical cloud storage service, but one that offers less value to users, only allowing uploads of video and photo content, rather than just, er, files.

March 27, 2024 at 6:22 pm #31643So after some research, it does seem that you can block Ads on YouTube via a VPN/Stream via a country that does not support / allow ads.
So I wonder if this would work also for Amazon Prime

These countries are:
- Mongolia
- Moldova and Albania

Note: Might create a separate Topic also as this is relevant to a lot of Youtube and Prime streamers etc.
