Not sure if I did something or just normal behaviour. Free RAM went up from 83 MB to 100 MB.
Interesting and potentially good news, was you tinkering with the router at any point or just before and then logged back in at a later time and notice the free RAMÂ increase ?

Great news, hopefully just the shock of seeing lower free RAM value has spooked you, and all working as it should be from a RAM (cache – buffers – kernel) perspective

October 14, 2022 at 8:16 am #21245I will keep monitoring and see what happens. Hopefully it isn’t like the AC88U.
Others are saying their XT8 has locked up needing reboot, but not sure if related.
This was the error in their log.
/var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device (retry in 60s)

If you could that would be helpful

‘/var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device (retry in 60s)‘ is more interesting, I assume you do not receive this particular log message also as you have sufficient free RAM ?

October 14, 2022 at 1:37 pm #21252Good news then – hopefully next few days will tell us if your XT8 is having RAM stability issues etc.

October 14, 2022 at 3:41 pm #21254I have 90-91MB free right now.
Has your free RAM continued to reduce below 90-91MB or did it recover?

October 14, 2022 at 8:17 pm #21261Just 5 minutes ago it locked up with the error out of memory (1560). I knew Asus would mess up with so many changes in one update.
I sent feedback to Asus few minutes before it locked up.

It was around 83 MB free. I think ASUS should pull this firmware version.

Remind me, is this the latest stock release, and if so I can have a chat with ASUS

October 17, 2022 at 8:02 am #21279Hi all! I am the one with the freeze problems on my 4 XT8s aimesh system… two freezes about 4/5 days after rebooting… I reverted to old “386” version.
Last freeze I have several (abou ten) of this errors in the log (that are the last entries before the freeze) :
Oct 16 17:31:48 dnsmasq-dhcp[27814]: failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device (retry in 60s)
I have another xt8 aimesh system (made of 1 router + 1 node and many less wifi clients) and until now no freezes (free ram is now about 84/85mb… in other installation it was 74/75 last time I controlled before the freeze)
