That is most unfortunate as you have been working well for nearly 3 weeks.

if you made no changes and still with same ISP, then maybe next time try tweaking the below to see if this helps.

    • set 2.4GHz bandwidth to 20MHz
    • fix control channels on 2.4GHz bands to 1, 6, or 11.
    • disable Airtime Fairness & Beamforming (for testing)

I did read a while ago, setting ‘AMPDU RTS’ to enable helps with crowded 2.4GHz channel and also check ‘WMM APSD’ as this is a power saving option mainly for mobile devices and saving battery power, if its only mobile devices disappearing from list, could be this ?

Logs would be good if problem re-appears.

I had a strange glitch the other day where the node wireless backhaul was up and the switch was working, but the SSID dropped offline and the node showed offline in the Asus app until it was rebooted, otherwise all has been good with the latest update.

I’ve recently moved my AP mode XT8’s from behind my MikroTik RB5009 to a Ubquiti Cloud Gateway Fiber, which is very nicely specced, and so far, I’m very impressed with it.

I’m planning on moving to a full Ubiquiti WiFi7 setup with a couple of APs, but until this is completed, the XT8’s, which are now 5+ years old, are working well and I’m impressed that Asus is still supporting them.

UniFi U7 Pro and E7 series has earned a strong reputation for delivering enterprise grade performance without the usual complexity or cost and is a good non Chinese / Taiwan alternative.

I’ve probably put the mockers on it, but it’s been a week and no issues.

Great news and thanks for letting us know, hopefully it was the ‘WMM APSD’ that was the main issue

Does anyone know what this log entry is and why I’m getting it?

“kernel: Failed delete entry fe80:0000:0000:0000:021c:2bff:fe1b:f758 *M”

The router has tried to clean up an IPv6 device entry that wasnโ€™t there anymore, this is usually due either aย device disconnects suddenly or a wifi client moving between wireless nodes etc.

The ‘M’ reference at the end of the log (I had to look this up as I did not know myself) refers to …

    M = Managed / Multicastโ€‘related entry

Are you using IPv6ย  and if so the log message is nothing to worry about unless its filling up your entire log which can be annoying.

None of my devices have IPV6 enabled?

I’ve just checked to make sure IPV6 is off and it was. I’ve toggled the “connection type” to enabled and back to disabled just in case, let’s see if it stopes.

Thank you and a Happy New Year.

Your probable find its an Apple device somewhere creating / using a local link IPv6 address.

That’ll be the Wife’s Work iPad and iPhone. Because they are corporate devises I’m not able to change any of the settings, all I can do is log them on to the Wi-Fi.

That said, since I toggled the IPV6 connection type the issue seems to have stopped?
