Looks like Asus pulled the build. It’s no longer available, or never really was in the first place.

March 27, 2025 at 5:14 pm #36310I installed this build from the link posted on SNB and my ET12 mesh is running super solid! There is NO VLAN support (port assigning) as earlier confirmed, but Guest Network Pro is working with my be96U main router! It is a huge step up from the last beta 9.0.0.6.102.4856 aside from no longer being able to assign vlans to ports.

March 27, 2025 at 5:34 pm #36317March 27, 2025 at 6:20 pm #36318This seems to be newer (3.0.0.6.102_36564) than the one that was pulled. On the download page it has 9.0.0.6.102_36564 as the id number, but once it is installed has the production build number. I’m assuming as are other folks that it is a QA build and will be pushed live after final tests, but not sure. I never know what to expect from Asus, just kind of go with the flow. It was posted to the Asus Web Storage download on the 20th of March.

March 27, 2025 at 7:00 pm #36320That makes sense, I missed the 9.0.0.6.102_36564 reference, but sounds like ASUS pushing out a quick release.
Great news the new 9.0.0.6.102_36564 (3.0.0.6.102_36564) is working well and hopefully will be available to all via ASUS download servers with working VLAN shortly

June 3, 2026 at 5:56 am #42760I actually got this router in 2024 for free when i joined my current ISP, who have been nothing but a pain.. Shame to see there’s no custom firmware all because they don’t have USB ports.. I did find a firmware tool on github that can modify the firmware image though. Wonder if anyone has any overlays or modifications they can share? I do miss my old Netgear Nighthawk R9000 with OpenTomato. Amazing how slow ASUS is with this router in regards to updates, hasn’t been the most reliable router I’ve had by a long way – just the other day my net stopped working and it needed a reboot. Very rare i had to do that, even back in the day when i was on DSL or even with Virgin Media, though with NTL i always had just a modem and my own NAT/NAS server lol
Plenty of features and speed on this router though and i don’t need WiFi 7 yet, i just wish the Merlin folks would support this model!
