So just finished the Symposer Delete on the Fiesta ST180 and now notice that there is a whirling or better described as a Vacuum Noise from blowing across the top of an empty bottle.

I think it sounds more like a Cylon from that cult classic, BattleStar Galactica.

Luckily, vacuum type sound stops after around 15 seconds from cold start and does sound a little like the Diverter Valve or similar.

Will have to investigate vacuum leaks etc, so fun weekend for my Son and I to look forward to.

Couple of pictures of the original Symposer alongside the new Symposer Delete we got from Matt Lewis Motorsport, a relatively easy job that took around 15 minutes or so.

Before we removed the Symposer, we did take a short video to originally compare the FiST sound before the symposer delete was addded.

Must say, never noticed the vacuum noise before, but it is also evident in this video before symposer delete was added, I guess the symposer muffled the sound better.

After further investigation, actually found the vacuum suction type air noise was caused by the Bosch stock air filter we had put in. Once we re-added the ST180 PiperCross sports air filter, the vacuum sucking type noise was no more.

Note, I also did clean the MAF (mass airflow sensor) at the same time, but either way, no more sucking vacuum type noise .

Thoughts, only reason maybe as to why the Bosch stock (ST180) air filter did not work is because the Fiesta ST180 is fitted with a Milltek CAT back exhaust and this is pulling more air (intake) as a result or the Bosch stock 180 air filter is faulty.

Or the FiST is already remapped stage 1 tuned (software) and we do not realise
