Background:
DDNS Asuscomm refers to the Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service provided by ASUS for its routers. It allows users to access their home network remotely using a custom domain name instead of relying on a constantly changing IP address.
ASUS routers come with built-in DDNS support, and users can register a hostname under the ASUSCOMM.COM domain. This makes it easier to connect to devices like security cameras, game servers, or NAS systems from anywhere.
Here are some Free alternatives for DDNS if you do not wish to use ASUS’s ASUSCOMM.COM and maybe more reliable ….
- No-IP – Offers a free plan with one hostname and dynamic DNS updates.
- Dynu – Provides free dynamic DNS with unlimited subdomains and easy setup.
- Afraid.org – A free DDNS service with shared domains and instant DNS pointing.
- DuckDNS – A simple, free DDNS service built on AWS infrastructure.
- Each service has its own features and limitations, so it depends on what you need and feel free to add other suggestions you may have used.

May 23, 2025 at 8:57 am #37846Back when I had a requirement for ddns, I used both No-IP and duck dns. They were both fine but I found no-ip wanted you to log in regularly to keep it alive. Duck DNS had no such requirement so was more set and forget. Not sure if that’s still the case though.
