Thanks for letting us know, has port 113 on your Fritz!Box caused you any concerns or the owners of Fritz!Box in Austria etc ?

February 22, 2022 at 10:11 am #17919Simply no.
And it is explicitly mentioned in AVM-help: https://service.avm.de/help/en/FRITZ-Box-7590/019/hilfe_internet_filter_listen
Dont know, but possibly AVM may use it to see whether your modem is up and running (at least online on your DSL-line) for MyFritz-Service.

February 22, 2022 at 10:47 am #17923Thanks for the links to AVM publications,
It would be nice if AVM would allow the Stealth of Port 113 and ICMP requests to be an option (Yes/No) radial buttons.
It was reported that Linksys has made port 133 Stealth optional due to customer concerns.

February 22, 2022 at 11:06 am #17925Ok, so I have sent AVM an email suggesting for Port 113 to have a check box for STEALTH option etc.
Will be interesting to see if they (AVM) come back to me on this

March 3, 2022 at 8:56 am #18030Had this response from AVM this morning regarding Stealth Port 113 request and has been translated via Google.
Standard response I believe, but does indicate the more owners ask for a feature, the more it will be considered ?

SOLUTION:
I had the exact same issue on a 7530AX Router and after trying a high number port that wasn’t used without luck I tried a server within the network. After ensuring iptables in the Linux Server was stealth for port 113 it worked!
Although many people may not have a running server already running, but if you do port forward TCP port 113 to that server within your LAN and make sure you add the iptables rull (save as well for reboot).

February 27, 2025 at 8:15 am #35738Welcome and great suggestion if you are running a LAN based Server or Linux Pie Box.
Fritz!Box’s are dependable routers and such a shame this one feature (Stealth Port 113) has not been allowed for the more paranoid amongst us (myself included)
