A PlusNet Fibre Journey
Ok, so I was on BT Broadband Service until this morning and now have switched over to PlusNet Fibre and thought it would be good for others to follow this process from a DSL Stats perspective.
My Broadband Service via BT was there Fibre 1 option (43Mb – 50Mb) – capped.
Plusnet Service is there Unlimited Fibre Extra (upto 76Mbps) – uncapped
I am on an Huawei Cab and have previously had G.inp enabled, so will be interesting to see what real stats I finally end up receiving.
(Note: I realise this is not a like for like comparison in terms of synch, but given PlusNet Unlimited Fibre Extra was at a lower price than BT Fibre 1 option, it could be compared in terms of ‘value vs synch rate’, maybe)
Below Stats from BT Connection:
Below Stats from Plusnet Connection after Line changed over:
Early days yet and hopefully G.inp and Download Synch speeds will increase ?

June 6, 2020 at 6:34 am #7900PlusNet re-synch after 4 days, G.inp is On downstream only and Downstream synch speed has increased by 10Mbps
Fastpath has also retuned to Downstream stream as it had a 8ms delay previously, now gone

June 6, 2020 at 8:02 am #7902June 6, 2020 at 9:11 am #7904At least more than before – goal achieved!
I hope SNR downstream will reduce from 7dB to 3dB giving me an extra 6 Mbps increase ;-)

June 10, 2020 at 6:18 am #7931Day 8 and another re-synch, now receiving an extra 3Mbps increase in download speed, stats general seem the same as day 6 except SNR is now 5dB downstream, hence speed increase.

June 10, 2020 at 9:22 pm #7946June 11, 2020 at 5:53 am #7947If you get 3db profile you will be close to 80Mb/s, lucky you
I have all my Toes and Fingers crossed

June 14, 2020 at 6:57 am #8020Day 12 and another synch, alas no real change this time.
Downstream INP reduced slightly but SNR remained at 4 dB
