So after some very wet towels where put into our Samsung DV90K6000CW 9Kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer – the Heat Pump dryer bounced / knocked on the floor a few times before it was tuned off.
After towels where removed and Heat Pump dryer was switched on, there was a strange humming noise (not normal) and the drum refused to spin.
So after leaving dryer unplugged overnight and then trying again in the morning, the humming noise remained and drum still refused to rotate.
Also noted that whilst the humming noise was present, the dryer sometimes started the heat exchanger as I could hear the Compressor rattling away and then dryer switched itself off.
So removed the lid from the dryer and also the back cover and noted the drum was very hard to rotate (almost jammed) so I then went to the back of the machine and noted the Fan / Blower was also jammed against the side of its housing.
Note: Photos Taken whilst Dryer was in operation. (after fix)
Fan was removed and checked for damage and then re-attached and I was then able to manually rotate dryer drum by hand.
Dryer was then plugged in and powered on and viola, Heat Pump dryer now works.
So seems with Samsung Heat Pump Dryers, do not over load them as the drive that rotates the drum is also directly connected to the fan, this (at least for myself) when to much weight was in drum (wet towels) caused the drum to bounce violently and jam the Fan / Blower
