PS5 vs PS5 Digital Edition: what are the differences ?

The decision really comes down to this: do you want to splash out on the full-fat PS5 or the cheaper PS5 Digital Edition? The main difference being that the former has a disc drive, and the latter doesn’t.

The disc-less Digital Edition will only be able to stream games, films, music and TV shows, rather than running them straight off a CD, DVD or Blu-ray. But that’s certainly not the only thing to consider when deciding between Sony’s latest console.

My PS5 suddenly out of the blue started getting the dreaded 3 beeps of death.

It happened exactly a year and 6 months after I first purchased it.

I even took the fan out and cleaned it, thinking the PS5 was overheating.

Fortunately, I purchased it from Amazon and they have accepted a return for a full refund and said they will first test it once received.

It looks like it may be a common fault due to a short in the LED ribbon cable.

I couldn’t be bothered to try this, so I accepted the return.

Shame about your PS5, very unfortunate but Amazon returns are first class

Apparently the PS5 Pro (codenamed Trinity) could even support in-game resolutions of up to 8K and has an improved GPU.

Not a cheap option

I got my refund from Amazon (£474.99 amazon voucher).

Hopefully the Pro will not be too much over £600.

At least I got over a years use of the PS5 and still got a refund, shame it borked itself like that.  Let’s hope they don’t have to do the liquid metal nonsense with the Pro to keep it cool.

My Xbox Series X is still going strong though.

The Xbox series X is built like a tank.  Just need more new AAA games for it.  Shame Microsoft is being so dumb with the studios.
