I noticed today that my Windows 10 Dell Laptop is now showing the following Message regarding Windows 11 upgrade:

‘This PC doesn’t currently meet all the system requirements for Windows 11’

Bloody windows and there Secure boot

TPM (Trusted Platform Module ) is configurable from the BioS on my Dell I believe, just need to look to see if I have TPM version is 1.2 or 2.0, if indeed the TPM security chip.

Create new text-file and paste this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
    “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU”=dword:00000001

Then rename it to update.reg and open it to be written into registry.

Afterwards you can update inplace to W11.

Great news if my Laptop BIOS does not support TPM 2.0 or is corrupt

But be aware you cant go back to W10 (or only 10 days), so I would prefer to wait till W10 support is ending.

They could stop updates on unsupported devices and with W10 you will get updates at least till end of 2025.

I am in no rush to upgrade either to Windows 11. I will give it a year or so and then may upgrade

Maybe they will end free upgrade in a year, keep an eye on it – probably not but possible.

    FAQ from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-windows-11
The free upgrade offer does not have a specific end date for eligible systems. However, Microsoft reserves the right to eventually end support for the free offer. This end date will be no sooner than October 5, 2022.

Thats the reason I have at least a partition with W11 on my PC so I could change at any time.
Use an old HDD for a W11 installation, so you are able to use it anytime in future to go on with it.

HI all, I noticed on my HP laptop, it says CPU isn’t supported.. it is a i3 CPU, nothing fancy just good enough for general use, not games etc.  Shame as its a nice laptop but is now around 5 years old, it came with windows 10 so bit surprised its fallen out of spec for win11 so soon.

My current Desktop PC is out of spec also – but that is around 10 years old so fair enough, think it has a 2ng gen i5 CPU in it but again does what I need just fine, I rarely play games these days.  Next year, I’ll take a look at upgrading my PC, prices are rather high at the moment, not to mention some components in short supply etc with chips etc.

Just installed Win11 on an old HP 8000 elite desktop with inplace upgrade (used a modified .iso to do so and disconnected internet while upgrade).

CPU Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5400 with 10GB memory in bios-mode without TPM and missing almost any requirement.
This PC originaly came with WinXP (and got drivers upto 7 and 8.0)

Running same as Win10 before, no troubles or complaints at all and updates working like before.

For .iso search for Win11-ENGLISH-x64-GDR-REFRESH-DECEMBER.-ZERO-LIMIT.ISO (22000.376)
