<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>Hello. Just to let you know I did get the router £90 in sale. Still have the old one up for sale.</p>
As you can see CPU usage is alot more normal now. Still testing the new router and some of the new features.
I’ve attached screen shots showing the difference.

Ok I may get it. Unfortunately I have certain mental health problems and can’t verbally speak which obviously causes me issues interacting with people.
I do live will people that don’t understand technology and will start moaning at me “why do you need a new router etc”
I will try and get my point across. I’ll let you know if I get it and how well it’s performing.
Thanks for your help

I’m in a dilemma with it now.
The ac88u as far as I know actually isn’t giving me any performance issues with it’s random CPU spikes. Although a good QoS option would be helpful.
I was looking at the Asus tuf ax5400. I don’t know if you know how good that is.
I don’t have any WiFi 6 devices currently although it does have mu mimo, better QoS for gaming and a better CPU.
It looks like I could sell my DSL ac88u for around £100 and the ax5400 currently costs £120

I’ve put the router away now. I tried brave browser on my phone and chrome on chromebook

To get it working I left the connection type on automatic. It will fail. But turn the virgin hub off and Asus off. Wait for the virgin hub to come on and then turn the Asus on.
The app was working and as you can see the CPU usage isn’t flying up all over the place. That 30% usage there was me doing a speed test.
Obviously there’s some kind of issue with the DSL ac88u.

Ok I’ve got it working but now this.
edit: the Asus router app is working

I do have an old n56u.
I could try plugging that in and see if the CPU goes high

With virgin the upload is 10mbs less.
