So after a further chat with a few staff members back at ASUS, it appears the option to allow lcp-echo-adaptive is already available with the ASUS DSL Range of modem Routers and will be included in the new DSL-AX82U also.
Alas I had not even seen this before so unless you know the commands, it is difficult to understand what options / commands are available ?
So to enable – lcp-echo-adaptive – go to…
Advanced Settings > WAN > Internet Connection > Additional pppd options and enter lcp-echo-adaptive in the dialogue box
