This FW is bad. I can’t enter modem UI via wireless, just stays in loop. I can’t connect 5Ghz directly, i have to click “connect” at least three times, when i launch my pc.
What model is your DSL Router so I can ask ASUS if they have any reported problems with this latest firmware ?
same here I am going to revert to latest release. this fw is suck :)
October 30, 2020 at 1:20 pm #10054I have dropped the ASUS DSL team an email, to see if they are aware of issues with this beta firmware release
But it is a beta

I know it’s beta but latest official is also bad for 5ghz. (858)
I’m tired of being installed fw, i think all asus users need a stable FW.

November 2, 2020 at 7:55 am #10066So I have spoken with ASUS and…..
- ASUS will look into possible ‘5GHz wifi issues’. (they are no aware of any with DSL-AC51)
ASUS will look into ‘pppd: Add lcp-echo-adaptive’ option (that is not a Yes or No) it is a maybe as I still need to discuss more with ASUS

November 2, 2020 at 12:57 pm #10068So after a further chat with a few staff members back at ASUS, it appears the option to allow lcp-echo-adaptive
is already available with the ASUS DSL Range of modem Routersand will be included in the new DSL-AX82U also.Alas I had not even seen this before so unless you know the commands, it is difficult to understand what options / commands are available ?
So to enable – lcp-echo-adaptive – go to…
Advanced Settings > WAN > Internet Connection > Additional pppd options and enter lcp-echo-adaptive in the dialogue box

November 2, 2020 at 2:26 pm #10070I tried it before posting it because I found it on the Internet. I’ve just tried again with no luck, I get the following message:
syslog: unrecognized option ‘lcp-echo-adaptive’
My router is DSL-N16 with the latest stable version 1.1.2.3_858.

November 2, 2020 at 3:14 pm #10075Did you set Internet Detection to PPPE Echo ?
Sure. I’ve set it the same way you did.
November 2, 2020 at 3:21 pm #10076Thanks for feedback, I will let ASUS know what they think works, does not for DSL-N16
Will be interesting if anybody else has the (syslog: unrecognized option ‘lcp-echo-adaptive’) issue with other ASUS DSL models

November 2, 2020 at 7:18 pm #10081I had DSL-AC68U until it broke after 2 years of usage. Its 5 Ghz network was very stable. It’s a rock solid device which you could use without rebooting for months…
Now I have an AC750, it is horrible, 5 Ghz network is mostly invisible, let alone being steady. And its interface is unresponsive if you don’t reboot every other day. No firmware update made an improvement.
November 2, 2020 at 7:46 pm #10082Luckily the DSL-AC68U uses a Broadcom chipset for wifi, so much better but greater cost

November 3, 2020 at 8:31 am #10085So ASUS have contacted me this morning and please see below in reference to ‘lcp-echo-adaptive’
——–
only DSL-AC68U and DSL-AX82U support this option but not other DSL models.
All RT models supports lcp-echo-adaptive .
This option would be supported at the next release of DSL models.
——-
We got there in the end and glad the ‘lcp-echo-adaptive’ option will be available on all ASUS DSL models going forward

Thanks! That was fast! I’ll let you know how it works once it’s released.
