So as you described, I enabled wifi scheduler and saved the settings, I then set the WPS Button behavior button option to Toggle Radio.
After enabling wifi scheduler I then logged out of DSL-AX82U and then pressed and held the WPS button for about 2-3 seconds until Wifi LED went out.
I then re-enabled wifi via the WPS button and logged back into the DSL-AX82U and indeed Wifi scheduler was disabled.
I seem to remember this has always been the case with ASUS routers, but will check with ASUS to see if this can be changed
