Good that your DSL-N55U C1 is working well with latest beta firmware.
I believe AVM Fritz!box – ASUS, Cisco and Linksys all support there routers regularly with firmware releases and longevity, but few have a combined modem and router.
If you can select AVM Fritz!box in you location and are not concerned with extra features offered by ASUS, such as Cone NAT, parental controls etc. maybe worth looking at the Fritz!box 7530AX or simular as this is modem and router built in.
A good ASUS modem/router is the DSL-AX82U and this works very well also.
