By dirty upgrade, do you mean you upgraded the firmware and didn’t do the factory reset?

Good to hear the update has gone well for you

Yeah indeed just ran the upgrade using the update function in the UI, didn’t reset to factory defaults. If I get any weird behavior I may go back and do that but seems to be fine so far.

Would be nice, for the BT10 I don’t think ASUS has actual GPL source released as yet.

@GNUton was running a poll is 2024 on which hardware to support on Github, could not find a 2025 update.

ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_39110

    2026/04/02

    Security Fixes:
    – Enhanced input validation and protection to reduce the risk of command injection and SQL injection.
    – Hardened environment variable handling.
    – Hardened protections around specific logging/command composition flows to reduce potential injection risks.
    – Patched a command injection risk in a specific network diagnostic function.
We recommend upgrading to this version to maintain best protection.

Whats the best way to request a feature from Asus? It would be useful in the web ui to be able to set baby jumbos (1508 mtu on the wan) as if your isp supports it then you can get full 1500mtu without fragmentation.

you can do it via the cli but then it locks the webpage from further editing as it throws up an error the mtu is set too high so you can’t edit and change any other settings on the webpage directly.

would be a nice thing to fix

That would be a nice option rather than using CLI workarounds – I will drop ASUS the question and ask.

    Other options:

    • ASUS Routers built‑in feedback form

Thanks, I did suggest via the form in the UI a while back but assumed it didn’t work as didn’t even get a notification. If you’re able to pass on directly that would be super helpful.

Many uk ISPs now support baby jumbos (currently using on EE myself and other open reach based connections should work too). Not exactly turbocharging the connection but seeing as PPPOE isn’t going away soon being able to remove the fragmentation whilst still being able to change other settings on that web ii page is helpful :)

Done a dirty upgrade of that version – no issues so far.

would be nice if Asus actually developed their OS with new features rather than just the odd bugfix here and there though.
