3: Are there any “optimal” configurations for wireless range on these Asus routers? I have everything default and the range seems pretty strong that I can’t really complain but just wondering.
Radio signal strength cannot really be increased as it is regulated, but radio signal can be shaped.
- Airtime Fairness – Disable
- Explicit Beamforming – Enable
- Universal Beamforming – Enable
- Enable TX Bursting – Enable
Then you can start looking at areas such as 2.4GHz will have better coveridge (not throughput) than 5GHz, ensuring you are not using a control channel in a crowded space which may cause interference is another good option to consider .
