As you say, car repairs and availability of spare parts are helping drive up the prices, I had someone recently drive into the side of me and damaged front wing, drivers and passenger door.
Insurance bill came to nearly £5000 and I had a loan car as repair took nearly 20 days as parts had to come from abroad, the repair shop also confirmed parts supply are difficult and costly nowadays 
.
My wife’s car renewal insurance only last month came in at over ÂŁ800 and last year we paid ÂŁ320 ish, with many years no claims etc.
Found a better deals with one of the caparisons sites and ended up paying around ÂŁ350, so worth shopping around
