Good news and well spotted about the released 25/07/19 – Version 3.0.0.4.384_80766 firmware update, it does seem to imply the latest release (Stock) for DSL-AC68U fixed issues.
This sort of setup always requires tweaking, give us an update in a couple of days as this thread/topic is getting a lot of views currently and I am sure others are watching with interest ;-)
