There is some chat on the PlusNet forums about G.inp trials for ECI cabs , but does seem very informal – I assume BT Openreach have already decided which lines / circuits are going to be tested and told effected ISP to be sympathetic / patient 
Alas from a BT perspective, (I had BT engineer visit me last week as profile was wrong) it seems Cabs / DSLAM management / Admin is done via India still
