Maybe this will help some to reuse their older RT-AC56U in Aimesh configuration.

Asus lists it as EOL, but so you would still get updates for it.

All you need is to search for TM-1900 howto convert and run as real RT-AC68U and the way for RT-AC56U would be very same.
