Did you ever see Merlin fw for models GNUton is supporting?

To be honest, I have never owned a device that was supported by either.

    (Content removed by Admin)

They both are just “better” AsusWRT (and Gnuton uses Merlin-code for mostly DSL and other models).

@GNUton uses ASUSWRT-Merlin and overlays this to work with ASUS DSL models, it now seems he is expanding to include all the feature of ASUSWRT-Merlin for use on XT8 etc.

The builds should be more secure and upto date etc  with many  new features above that offered by stock ASUS firmware.

If @GNUton adds extra features to his builds, he tends to use the term ‘unleashed’ but as far as I am aware, it is ASUSWRT-Merlin through and through on new hardware  ;)

I have updated all 4 XT8 to this now and will see how it goes.  The first bit of nuisance is that all nodes had to be added using ethernet cable.  Also, the LED lights seem to turn back on with changes to settings.  Toggling on and off turns it off again.  Under Network, it doesn’t show the PHY rate.

ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware has the option to adjust the logging levels as types, so maybe worth playing around as I am sure this is ported into the @GNUton builds also ?

Are you using any Guest Wifi ?

I am not using Guest WiFi as I did not set one up.

There is following available under log settings:

    Default message log level

Log any messages more urgent than

What should I chose for each?
