BT down reports are on the rise with frustrated customers left unable to check their bills or switch broadband packages via the MyBT app, or check their emails via the Yahoo Mail-powered BT mail service. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has seen a major spike in BT down reports this afternoon. At the time of writing, Down Detector UK has recorded a peak of over 1,300 reports of BT down, with the bulk of reported problems to do with MyBT and BT mail.
While affected customers have also been taking to Twitter to report issues they’ve been experiencing and asking the @BT_UK Twitter account for assistance.
One tweeted: “Hi @bt_uk anything up with login at the moment I just a “Something went wrong” when trying to login to My BT. I use a password manager but have change p’word just in case with no luck.”
Another posted: “@bt_uk I can’t login to my email – I get ‘something went wrong. Please try again’ – I’ve tried both on my phone and my computer and it’s the same message.”
One added: “@bt_uk Is BT webmail down? Can’t login.”
And another wrote: “Is there currently a problem with MyBT? I can’t log in after trying a few times.”
Responding to one customer the @BT_UK Twitter said: “We’ve identified a fault and we’re currently working on this.”
While responding to another Twitter user the BT account added: “We have identified a fault and are working on it. Can you check it again in an hour please? Sorry for the inconvenience. Is there anything I can do to help in the interim?”

According to Down Detector UK, reports of BT down began coming in around 2pm UK today (Tuesday April 13).
The latest BT issues come after another outage that hit customers at the start of the month.
That service disruption left hundreds of BT customers unable to login to their email account of reply to messages.
